I use Amazon to create a Wishlist that friends and family can use to send me gifts I will actually use. I got this indoor practice mat today.

Premium Dual-Turf Golf Hitting Mat, 10mm Foam Padding with Rubber Backing, Golf Practice Mat for Indoor and Outdoor Training

Small but adequate for practicing driver, woods, hybrids, and irons.

“Rough” nothing like real grass rough; but the “Fairway” turf is pretty good.

Relatively cheap for a pretty well made practice mat.

“Premium Dual-Turf Golf Hitting Mat, 10mm Foam Padding with Rubber Backing, Golf Practice Mat for Indoor and Outdoor Training”

That is the name of the product. Impossible to remember in the sea of similar competing products.

Simulated “Rough” and “Fairway” mat comes folded in half in a non-descript plastic bag.

No branding or literature or instructions. While most golfers wont care, it does not build any brand awareness or loyalty.

The Amazon posting has a lot of nonsense about practicing putting. It’s too small for any meaningful putting practice. It is fine for driver, woods, hybrids and irons.

The Amazon posting has photoshopped golfers “indoors” in the “backyard” and “outdoor” – but again, common sense would dictate you have a net if you are planning to practice.

Not realistic turf. No real hitting feel. But it does seem sturdy.

Here is the BACK of the mat. There is a thick “anti-slip” rubber base. It grips fine on carpeting, and expect it would be okay on floors.

On carpet, the base does not move when hitting.

To give you an idea about size, here is a photo of the mat relative to a golf ball and a golf iron.

The mat folds in half, and when open, it lays flat. The one issue that is a little irksome is the very thick foam layer in between the rubber base and the artificial turf.

For me the ball position is noticeably higher than my other practice mats (e.g., I also have a Champkey Velvet Mat – see my review of that mat here).

Not a big deal, I choke down on the grip and practice imagining the ball is above my feet. The company markets the foam as shock absorbing and “protective”, which it is.

If you have a full size foam practice mat that is wearing out, you could CUT a square to fit this into your mat. Then the ball would not be sitting up so high relative to your feet.

I will probably use the “rough” to practice wood shots in lieu of a short tee because the ball just sits up high in the simulated rough. Again, not realistic but still usable.

Not bad.
